Let’s call it #WingsWednesday as we take in this gorgeous raptor taking flight.
It was hanging out along a suburban trail this past weekend, surveying the area and people watching. After a time, it decided it was ready for a change of scenery and launched, giving me this capture against some absolutely gorgeous skies.
A bit of a camera note about this capture for those interested… Somehow, I had accidentally spun the dial on my camera that controls aperture and this was taken at f20 – not my usual “f8 and be there.” As a result, ISO was a very high 4000. My heart dropped when I realized what happened. Thankfully, my camera (Canon EOS R5 Mark II) handles high ISOs relatively well and while it took a good bit of work in post-processing to reduce the noise, it ended up coming out okay.
