The velvet has been shed off their antlers and now the gloves come off. The rut is on! We probably still have a couple weeks before the action really heats up but these two were wasting no time. The clacking of their antlers was quite loud, breaking the silence of the forest. After a bit, they moved to the other side of those trees, where I couldn’t risk following without getting too close. The noise of the clash continued, however, and through the trees I could see them pushing and shoving each other.
