Kind of a fun capture from a couple of weeks ago. This elk bull was trying to woo away a competing bull’s harem but being kind of sneaky about it. From the nearby forest, he bugled repeatedly but remained hidden for fear of having to face a head-to-head challenge. It was a novel approach for sure, although it didn’t work. The ladies wanted to see the merchandise before buying and not being willing to strut his stuff turned them off.
