Blue skies, the mountains and columbine for Colorado Day

All three of those scream “Colorado” and today the Centennial State celebrates its 148th birthday so it seems highly appropriate to share this image today.

While hiking in Grand Mesa National Forest a few weeks ago, my wife and I came across a little area with tons of the state flower along the shore of a lake. I spent a lot of time climbing around the rocks and logs, trying to get a good capture. While the closeups are nice, I like this one that shows a more full view of the scene.

Happy birthday, Colorado!
