The Colorado high country welcomes fall’s arrival with snow

As if on cue, Mother Nature delivered a nice dose of the white stuff to the Colorado mountains on the first day of autumn. Saturday night brought rain to the 7,500 foot high area where we were camped, forcing us inside to stay dry. Up above us though, it was colder and the precipitation took on a different form.

With the rain easing yesterday morning, I headed into Rocky Mountain National Park early. Soon after sunrise, the sky was slowly clearing and the white peaks were looking absolutely gorgeous. While I am in no rush for snow and winter, I am not complaining about the view.
