Late last Friday afternoon I was waiting for my wife to arrive at our RV site for our last trip of the season and as usual, I was bored without my best friend. The clouds were looking a bit dramatic and while the light wasn’t great, I figured I would take the opportunity to put my drone in the air.

I went for a quick hike, found a decent spot to launch, and sent it into the air. At 400 feet, it had a fantastic view looking into Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding area. Most notably, the 14,260-foot-high Longs Peak stood out. Fresh snow from the night before had survived the daytime heating and still coated the higher elevations above timberline. Below, in spots, you can see the golden fall foliage that marks the changing of the seasons.
