I mentioned previously that our trip to the Moab area last week didn’t go quite as planned. Well, this was one reason why. Our first full day we headed to Canyonlands National Park, looking forward to the stunning desert vistas that it is known for. Mother Nature had other plans.
What was some light drizzle in Moab was a snowstorm less than 20 miles away in the park. Most of the time, you couldn’t see 100 feet for the low clouds and monstrous snowflakes that were coming down. One spot, near the visitor center, afforded the most expansive view we would see while there.
It was disappointing but I will say, it was quite beautiful and we spent a good bit of time in various spots, taking pictures and soaking in the silence that snow can bring. We were good humored about it and I quipped, “If I wanted snow, I would have stayed in Colorado.” LOL!
