The Tetons in dramatic black and white

Oh, how I love this shot, my favorite landscape capture from our recent trip to Grand Teton National Park.

Oxbow Bend is probably the most popular spot to photograph those incredible mountains. The winding Snake River in the foreground helps bring even more interest to the scene. On this morning my goal was to capture sunrise at this iconic location, something I do every time we go.

However, while working my way there, I was distracted by a grizzly bear and her cubs that demanded my camera’s attention. As a result, I didn’t arrive until after the sun was up but Mother Nature cooperated with some nice light and fantastic clouds above. The color version was pretty but the black and white I feel like really makes it pop.
