This is kind of a fun, backyard photography outing but one that I have struggled to have success with previously. I decided to try again and enlisted the help of Stu, my friend over at My Kona Girl Photography, as he has shared some awesome captures of them. With his advice, I finally got the formula and process right.
It was fun to watch them crystallize and see all the crazy formations. Because this only works when temperatures are well below freezing, this photographer was quite chilled after spending a half hour in the 0 degree weather to say the least! Note to self: wear gloves.
I look forward to trying again with our next Arctic blast so I can work on composition and lighting but for now, I am glad to be warm again.
