I was recently asked if I was going to go see the Blue Angels when they were in Colorado this past weekend. I opted not to since I had seen them two out of the last three years. So, here is one from their previous visit to the Centennial State in October 2023.
My wife and I had driven through a snowstorm to get to Grand Junction and had just checked into our hotel. Within minutes we heard the roar of the team’s F/A-18 Super Hornets so we put off unpacking and raced over to the airport to watch their first practice.
The backdrop for airshows at this spot are amazing but were particularly so on this day with snow covering the mountains and even a hint of fall foliage. It definitely made for a unique image of these high fliers, one not normally seen.
