A fleeting encounter with this wily one on the Great Plains of Colorado. It was on the move but paused, very briefly, to give me a glance and a nice pose.
Normally you don’t want your subject backlit but I do kind of like this shot and the way the light highlights around the edges of the coyote. Unfortunately, it does appear that it does have a bit of mange, something that seems to run through the coyotes in the area sometimes.
