Bald eagle makes the tough landing in a snowstorm

The last month and a half or so has seen Colorado in a seemingly endless series of Arctic cold fronts. The cold and snow has grown tiresome and presents many challenges to photographers. Oftentimes, as I step outside in the pre-dawn hours with snow falling and temperatures in the single digits I think, “What the hell am I doing?” LOL.

This was one of those mornings. It turned out to be worth the pain, however. While I would have preferred a natural landing spot, the bald eagle was handling the weather far better than the photographer and gave me a nice shot of my favorite subject in my least favorite weather conditions.
