Friend, “There’s two right there!”
Me, “What, where?”
Friend, “Right there!” while emphatically pointing and wanting me to hit the brakes.
Me, “I don’t see anything.”
Yeah, that is pretty much how this encounter started. Thankfully, my friend was more observant than I, but he did have the benefit of being the passenger and didn’t have to pay attention while driving to ensure we didn’t crash. Haha!
Once we got on the same train of thought, we were able to spend some quality time with this gorgeous couple as they soaked in the early morning sun this past weekend. They gave us some nice looks, including this one, as they both looked into the distance. This also gives you a good idea of the size difference between the much bigger female (left) and the smaller male (right), a trait common among raptors.
