Finally a bit of a break. My photo outings last weekend were huge disappointments with few snaps to show for them. I was very frustrated but, thankfully, one day after work this week this handsome fellow and his lady took some mercy on me and threw me a bone.
I spotted them perched above the South Platte River not far from where I live and given my desperation, I was determined to get some decent captures. The hike in through the snow wasn’t too bad and as I got within range, the pair was clearly aware of my presence but not disturbed.
I managed some nice pics of them posing and then, the male decided it was time to stretch his wings. He flew out, across the river, made a couple circles, and came right back giving me this nice, head on shot. That wingspan is so impressive and I love the focused look in his eyes.
Hoping for more luck like this over the next couple of days. Have a great weekend!
