My photo outing Saturday was not going well. I had driven and walked a lot with virtually nothing captured by my camera. Frustrated, I started heading for home and by chance, happened across this handsome fellow standing watch over a prairie dog colony.
It seemed to take mercy on my photo plight, allowing me to get bunches of pictures of it posing and, best of all, letting me get in the best position for the light. After a time, it decided it was done with posing and took flight. As it did, it crossed in front of the few clouds in the distance and with the morning light illuminating the bird perfectly, I got a great sequence of images.
