On a recent outing, I thought my photo day was done but as I neared home, my friend spotted this eagle sitting out on an island in a pond. It was a pretty long shot and suburbia intrudes on the area but with a long lens and some creative framing, it made for a nice capture. The eagle was just hanging out, keeping watch and being on the island, entirely comfortable. Behind, the snow-covered mountains make for a nice backdrop.
