Ah yes, there is a lot to like about this image starring our national emblem. She was lit up beautifully by the early morning light and as she glided and began the climb to her nest, you get a look at her amazing plumage. Of course, she is set against those impossibly blue Colorado skies that we are famous for.
It was just over two years ago the previous female resident of this nest passed away from bird flu. Last year, this new lady arrived and her and the male successfully fledged two eaglets. I will be hoping for similar success this year!
