This time of year the boys don’t really get along. The ladies are the focus and other rams are competitors for their affection. I have not been fortunate enough to see any big battles but have witnessed plenty of posturing. These two were in an unsteady standoff near a ewe that had gotten both of their attention. Approaching each other head to head, I was sure they were going to headbutt but instead they just stood face to face, like two prize fighters before the start of a match.
