I did not get as many opportunities with these cool little owls this spring and summer as I would have liked. However, the encounters I did get were usually pretty good leading to some nice shots.
On this morning back in June, this guy was quite curious and was kind enough to fly up and land close, giving some nice poses as he checked me out. Most of the burrowing owls are now leaving the Colorado plains, heading south for the winter. I will be anxiously awaiting their return in the spring.
