I wonder if it was something I said to deserve this look? 😉 Going back to January for this image that I have not previously shared. Absolutely crazy detail and lots to take in as you look at the features of this majestic creature.
I am starting to work on my end of year photo projects (yes, calendars are coming!) and as I go through that process, I always find some hidden gems like this one.
My photo outing that morning had been a near total disappointment. As I pulled into my neighborhood, I received a message from a very nice lady that sometimes provides me wildlife tips. She said this eagle had been hanging out in her neighborhood all morning so I turned around and headed off to check it out.
I had just arrived and my tipster said the eagle had just left. Ugh. But, as we were talking, I look and far off in the distance in some trees, I see a distinctive white spot. Off I went and I find the eagle perched directly over a trail, calmly watching as people obliviously walk right under it.
It was pretty funny to have people ask me, “What are you photographing?” and then see their faces when I point out the raptor right above. In the end, I spent more than an hour with it getting a ton of cool poses before leaving it to its people-watching.
