Dark morph ferruginous hawk shows off its beautiful plumage

Ferruginous hawks are probably my favorite hawk to photograph and the rarer dark morph variety are a notch above. You have the bright yellow gape that ferruginous are known for and then throw in that chocolate plumage with white on the underwings and bam, you have a winner. On this day last weekend, I was fortunate enough to see two of them, this one giving me a nice little show.
