Another unusual raptor I have had the privilege to photograph. Red tails are very common and I rarely go a day without seeing them. As such, I usually dismiss them and don’t bother photographing them. Recently I spotted this gorgeous specimen of the dark morph variety – a relatively rare variety of the common hawk.
That required some attention! It gave me some nice pole-top poses then took flight, allowing me this cool capture showcasing its beautiful plumage as it looked down at me.
