Dickcissel sounds off on the plains

I joke that I don’t take pictures of “little birds” but, if the opportunity presents itself and the subject is different, I will certainly do so. Such was the case a few weeks ago with this little one. Dickcissels are found across much of the central United States in the summer but this was the first time I have ever seen one. This fellow was quite animated, singing quite a lot, and drawing attention to itself, giving me a nice photo op.
