An interesting, but brief, battle between these two titans of the Great Plains.
I saw the bigger bison (right) running toward the second bull but initially didn’t think much of it. It is pretty unusual for one to challenge another unless already in close proximity. Well, the bigger bull apparently was not happy with the presence of the other and furiously engaged the other.
There was only a brief moment where they clashed directly and then they separated, seeming to think about whether they wanted to continue the battle. In the end, they separated and in fact walked off next to each other. Lots of fun to see, especially with the fresh snow on the ground.
