Not a perfect reflection but not too bad. I was photographing this pterodactyl-lookalike this weekend when it took flight unexpectedly. As I furiously snapped away, it never occurred to me to back off my zoom to capture the bird and reflection together. Thankfully, a couple of frames of the sequence managed to get it, including this one.
I do like how it captures just the tip of one wing touching the water, creating a ripple. The light was tough with overcast skies casting everything in blue, much like the heron’s name.
