Well, surely you didn’t expect me to share anything but a bald eagle today, right?
It has been 249 years since this country declared its independence from an oppressive kingdom. Since then, we have grown to be a nation that all others aspire to. We have seen strife internally and externally and we have certainly been through some challenging times but, we continue as always as, “one nation, under God.”
Certainly, it may not seem like that anymore, and that makes me sad. Too many forces from the extremes (from both sides!) are at work, people listen but they do not hear, respect for our Constitution, our laws and indeed, each other is a rarity.
I dunno, I am sitting here typing this and waxing philosophic, wishing I had the answers, wishing people could just be better. As has been said, there is more that unites us than divides us – at least I hope so. Like I say, it just makes me sad.
For today, however, I will set all that aside and pray that our best days as a nation lie ahead and that God will continue to bless America.
