Yeah, Mr. Grackle, you probably don’t want to mess with mama bald eagle. 😉
You have to look close but you can see the grackle got the message and made a hasty departure. Taken back in April when mama eagle was still confined to the nest to keep her little ones warm. I oftentimes see little birds come up under the eagle nest and steal little sticks and grass for their own home. Normally the eagles pay them no attention but when this grackle decided to bravely approach from the top, mama was not happy.
