Most non-nesting Bald Eagles have left Colorado for the season and headed to cooler climates to the north. It had actually been a couple of weeks since I have seen one – until yesterday. Much to my surprise there were two juveniles hanging out north of Denver International Airport.
Unfortunately they didn’t want to sit and pose but I did manage a flight shot of one of them. Not my best work as I was shooting into the sun at the time. You will notice this one actually has a band on its leg. I would have loved to have been able to get a good image of it so the number on the band could be read and then be able to see where it originally came from.
