A series of images that fall in the category of ‘content over quality’ – a great story and fun to see but not quality pics as the action was a long ways away. Scroll to see the complete series.

Yesterday I was photographing a few bald eagles that had staked out a prairie dog field, hoping for a meal. One juvenile was on the ground over a burrow when a second young eagle flew in, likely thinking the first had a kill it could steal (it did not). As the thief flew in and extended its talons, the juvenile on the ground did a fantastic ‘kung-fu move’, flipping over onto its back in the air to defend itself!

Crazy cool and fun to see. The interloper would try one more time but then seemed to realize no easy meal was to be had and flew off to find its own.
