Well, this was a bit of interesting action – scroll down to view the complete sequence.
I was photographing three moose bulls in a meadow beside a high country road early one morning. I turn to see this young bull walking down the road.
He would stop, watch me, then move ahead a little bit, watch me some more. As I kept an eye on him, two mule deer came down the side of the mountain and crossed in front of him.
Apparently he did not want to share the road as he started running after them. The deer of course took off, not wanting to get in the big boy’s way. Definitely something I have never witnessed before.
Taken from a good ways away and in poor light but a fun sequence worth sharing. It also served as a good reminder of just how fast these guys can move despite their size.
Taken in Arapaho National Forest, Colorado.
