This was one handsome animal in near perfect light. My friend and I were photographing the mountain goats before the sun crested over the horizon. He commented that he was hoping we would find one with a perfect coat as many of them, even this late in the season, were still kind of scraggly as they were shedding their summer coats.
As if on cue, this handsome fellow emerged, coming up the mountain just as the sun made its appearance. It looked absolutely gorgeous in the soft light and its coat was perfect.
