Not one but two baby bald eagles

I visited my favorite nest yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks. Last time, I was able to confirm there was one eaglet. Much to my surprise, yesterday I learned there are in fact two in there! Whoohoo!

Number two did not want to make itself very visible, choosing to hide behind a branch. The other would occasionally stick its head up, giving me a view of the little cutie.

It does my heart good to see this. To think that in our lifetimes, our national emblem has gone from the brink of extinction to a thriving, growing population. An amazing story of conservation indeed.
