Something seems a bit of place here, eh? Taken at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge where elk are certainly not something you expect to see. It is a good 20 miles from the closest spot you normally find them. This pretty lady, however, has been hanging out at the Arsenal for at least two years that I know of.
I’ve shared pics of her before but Sunday I was able to get my best yet of her. Normally she hangs out of sight with the deer but on this day she decided she preferred hanging out with our national mammal.
The bison bulls pretty much ignored her and didn’t mind her presence at all. However, later, when she tried to join the larger bison herd, the bison seemed reluctant to let her get close.
