Such a stunning creature. Followers of this page know of my affinity for our national emblem and I have taken tens of thousands of pictures of them in the wild. This one is a captive bird that I had the privilege of photographing at a recent event with HawkQuest and Mike’s Camera.
It was a good opportunity to see my favorite photo subject up close without the usual concerns of it flying off or having to worry about stressing it. The detail the image captures is quite impressive from the feathers to the eye and the lighting was perfect.
