“Can’t a prairie dog not just eat a bush in peace without some paparazzi shoving a camera in its face?”

Yeah, the little one was not too keen to see me with my camera I would say.

While prairie dogs are cute and living on the plains of Colorado I have endless opportunities to photograph them, I rarely do. Perhaps it is because they are so common I usually ignore them.

I definitely don’t have any hard feelings toward them, in fact, I entirely appreciate them as a critical, keystone species that is incredibly to a healthy ecosystem. When I see their habitats destroyed in the name of “progress” it saddens me because not only do they lose their lives and habitats, but their loss impacts dozens of others critters that depend on them.
