Ptarmigan work their way down a high-altitude slope

Well, this was a first for me. While I have seen these birds before in fleeting moments, I have never been able to get pics of them. So, let’s call it #PtarmiganTuesday! ? The white-tailed ptarmigan are cool, color-changing birds. In their summer plumage, seen here, they blend in perfectly with the rocky landscapes they call home. In the winter, they will turn all white, camouflaged in the snow.
