This was a fun, surprising encounter. On Monday when I was visiting my favorite bald eagles, this guy / gal ambled up and climbed into a cavity in the base of the eagle’s nest tree. I’ve been watching that spot for many years and this is the first time I have seen a critter go in there. After a quick glance to ensure there were no threats, it entered its wooden home and disappeared, not to be seen again.
