Joe the pelican thought he was hilarious. His friends ignored him and kept preening or just looked away. 😀

A fun find yesterday at St Vrain State Park here in Colorado. The American white pelicans are usually one of the last to leave for the season and with the mild weather we have been having, they don’t seem to be in any big rush to depart the Centennial State. There were two large groups hanging out, largely preening and sleeping. They are my wife’s favorites so I am obligated to take their picture whenever I see them.
