The gray ghost patrols the Colorado foothills

It is always a treat to get a chance to photograph a northern harrier, especially the males with their cool, gray plumage and bright yellow eyes. This past weekend, my friend spotted one and we quickly flipped a U-turn to try to get in front of it. It was, however, moving at a fast pace and not wanting to risk missing the opportunity, I rolled down the window and starting shooting while he drove at 45mph. Thankfully I managed a few, decent shots of it before it veered off.
