This mule deer buck appears to think he is a comedian. 
In actuality, he was doing the flehmen response, a common behavior among ungulates that allows them to get a better sniff of the air. In this case, he was trailing a doe and undoubtedly trying to determine if she was ‘ready.’ Whatever the reasons, it made for a fun and different look at this handsome animal at the height of the rut.
