Driving home from work this past Friday on what was a cold day with snow flurries, I spotted this handsome bald eagle at a local pond. I wasn’t really dressed appropriately for the 18 degree temperatures but did not want to pass up the opportunity. The eagle gave me some fun poses and when it had enough, it launched out of the tree and dove almost straight down toward the ground before leveling out.
It made for a fun, dramatic capture. As you can see, this bald eagle has some white under its wings and some dark spots on its head. That tells us that it is coming up on its 5th birthday and it will soon have full, mature plumage.
