You really can’t take the looks that owls give you personally. They always look grumpy, no matter what, and those eyes are absolutely piercing, making you almost feel bad for taking their picture.

A few days ago, I shared images from my local nest and how I got a glimpse of mama owl’s back in the tree cavity the week prior. Saturday, I went back again and this time I happened to catch her sitting up as she rearranged on her eggs. Of course, she was clearly so happy to see me. Ha!

Incubation for the eggs is between 30 and 37 days so assuming she has been on them for a couple of weeks, it will be a while yet before the little ones hatch and then get big enough for us to see them.
