On a check of my local owl nest a few days ago, I was happy to get a glimpse of mama owl snug in the tree cavity while dad kept watch nearby from one of his favorite perches. Once hunkered down in the nest, mama usually stays out of sight, only becoming visible when rearranging or once the eggs have hatched and she has to give little ones some room. It likely won’t be long, maybe a week or two, before we can see little fuzzballs peering out.
