Check out this cutie! This is one of three owlets at my local great horned owl nest and the most independent of the trio. This one tends to hang out a bit away from the others, preferring some solitude. Here, it peers down at me, wide-eyed and clearly focused. Time is running short to see these guys. Soon they will depart and set off on lives of their own.
