Fall colors and Hallett Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park

Our last RV trip of the season and while the critters did not want to play much on this day, Mother Nature still put on a fine show. It was peak leaf peeping time and, indeed, the landscape was colored in gold.

I made my way to a trail that offers fantastic views of the 12,720-foot high Hallett Peak, a mountain that dominates the view to the west in this part of the park. In the foreground, Glacier Creek was flowing peacefully and providing the soundtrack. Beyond, the slopes were a mix of yellow and green. The mountain’s peak stood proud behind it all with a view of the Tyndall Glacier and some fresh snow that was lingering from a couple days prior as well.
