This was a fun, surprise stop. I thought my photo excursion was done Saturday and was heading home when I spotted this little field of sunflowers. Jackpot!
While it wasn’t very big, it allowed for some cool captures showcasing the golden blooms and those always beautiful blue Colorado skies. In these shots, one even has a bee and another a ladybug.
Up until the last couple of years, there were many, big fields of sunflowers east of Denver. Unfortunately, the farmers haven’t been growing them lately. I don’t know why, but I suspect at least part of the reason is due to the actions by the public and photographers and their rudeness and complete lack of respect for private property. Some of the worst behavior I have ever seen while photographing has been at sunflower fields. As a result, don’t ask, I will not tell anyone where this spot is.
