While waiting for Comet Tsuchinshan–ATLAS to make an appearance Monday evening, I was treated to a pretty danged awesome pre-show. Sunset wasn’t anything particularly noteworthy but after the sun went down, wow!

The colors were so rich and the dark clouds dropping virga looked amazing. Below, you had that awesome silhouette of the Rocky Mountains and the lights of suburbia. The comet did appear and steal the show but had it not, I would have been okay walking away with only this shot as I love it.
