Happy #FreedomFriday, everyone! Jumping back to mid-January for this capture of a beautiful female bald eagle that I have not shared before.
Driving home from work, I spotted her and her mate hanging out along the South Platte River north of Denver. While it required a little bit of a hike to get to them, the temperatures were relatively mild and the skies looked beautiful so I figured I would give it a shot.
I initially thought it was naught as the female departed before I could get into position but, thankfully, she came right back with near perfect positioning. The light was good and the sky with wispy clouds in the distance helped to make for a compelling shot of this majestic creature, our national emblem.
