It is of course Freedom Friday and, apparently, also National Go Fishing Day, hence my selection of this image to share today. While I don’t fish anymore, I sure don’t mind happening across our national emblem when one of them takes part in the sport.
This is one of a sequence of images I captured back in March. One of the pair of eagles from my favorite nest decided to do a bit of fishing as I passed by so I of course hit the brakes and stopped to take pictures.
Showcasing its professional angler skills, it wasted no time identifying a potential target, swooping in fast over the water, and digging its talons into its catch. Perhaps if I could do as well, I might still be a fisherman. 😀
