Bam! A dramatic launch for this beautiful bald eagle last weekend.
Living on the Colorado plains where trees can be few and far between, I oftentimes spot our national emblem perched on utility poles for lack of better options. This is somewhat of a bummer photography-wise as a ‘pole bird’ is certainly less photogenic than one in a tree.
However, because there are no distracting branches, if the bird is in the right spot, you can get some cool shots without any extraneous stuff in the way. Such was the case with this eagle’s launch.
Taking off from the top of a pole, it leaped straight up into the air in spectacular fashion. You get a cool, unique pose and great looks at those wings and talons.
